The Pennies from Heaven Fund helps to ease financial hardships for parents so that they can stay with their children in the hospital. Whether it’s assistance with transportation, food, sibling care, overnight bags, or other expenses, the Pennies from Heaven fund was established to keep families together when they need it most.
The Pennies from Heaven Fund is about families helping families. We help because we can and the Fund relies exclusively on the generosity of donors. All donations go directly to families in need and there are NO overhead or administrative expenses. We are run entirely by volunteers and all money collected is distributed to needy families with the able assistance of the wonderful social workers at Childrens’ Hospital of Pittsburgh. We hope for your financial and volunteer support.

Pennies From Heaven is proud to partner with the social workers at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
For nearly twenty years, Pennies From Heaven has counted on the talented and caring social workers to be our eyes and ears within the hospital. Social Workers identify families in need and provide immediate assistance such as overnight kits, brown bag lunches and hospital living stipends. When the needs are bigger, the head of the department must grant approval. For very large gifts, the founders of Pennies From Heaven are consulted for approval. If you know of a family in need, please ask them to speak with their social worker.
At this time, we are only able to assist families admitted to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
